Welcome to our staff stories for January
We want to shout about our incredible staff and all they bring to the restaurant, without them we wouldn’t have anything! We will be featuring a few people from our wonderful team each month and talking a little about what they do for A Rule of Tum.

When did you start working for AROT: January 2019
How did you get into the hospitality industry?: I started working at the rocket cafe when I was 15, I instantly fell in love with the great food and atmosphere of the independent business.
Favourite meal to cook at home?: I can never choose favourites, I just love to create good food and feed people in my free time.
What's your favourite AROT dish?: I always loved anything from Barabeka and the ever-changing concepts in the shipping container. My all-time favourite would be the Barabeka chicken, it’s the best I’ve ever tasted.
Where do you feel most at home?: In front of a fire with my partner, I love to be out in the countryside.
What do you enjoy doing when not working?: I love to socialise with friends and enjoy long drives out the beach.

When did you start working for AROT:
R - April 2019
S - July 2020
How did you get into the hospitality industry?:
R - Needed some money for travelling with friends and it took me here.
S - I actually just wanted to have a job while I was doing my studies to keep myself busy. I didn't know that I'd find a job as great as working at AROT and I'm so grateful for all the people that have made this job - which can be really difficult sometimes - a lot more enjoyable.
Favourite meal to cook at home?:
R - Beans on toast
S - Poached eggs on toast
What's your favourite AROT dish?:
R - Gotta be the roasts
S - I think the truffle mac and cheese will always be my favourite
Where do you feel most at home?:
R- At home
S - As cliché as it sounds, anywhere when I'm with my friends. So work actually feels pretty close to home a lot of the time!
What do you enjoy doing when not working?:
R - Travelling, football, climbing, going out, hiking, seeing friends, fashion
S - I really enjoy photography, as well as reading. I also like playing the piano and love music

Meet Rhee, Restaurant Manager of Maneki Ramen.
"I started in hospitality during university in Canada. It’s a great industry to work in while you’re pursuing personal goals/projects.'
Favorite meal to cook at home?: 'Chef’s pasta! Even I can’t mess that dish up 😅'
What's your favorite AROT dish?: 'Definitely Maneki’s Kimchi Chicken Ramen. I like it spicy.'
What do you enjoy doing when not working?: 'When I’m not at Maneki I’m in one of Worcester’s independent coffee shops working on my novel or helping people edit theirs!'
